β¦ Synopsis
A reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatographic procedure has been developed to separate and quantitate leukotrienes. This procedure is based on the ultraviolet absorption of the conjugated triene moiety of these compounds and is sensitive to the nanogram level. Several leukotrienes (B4, C,, D4) can be quantitated in a singie analysis using prostaglandin Bz as an internal standard. Leukotriene production by murine m~t~ytoma cells foliowing stimulation with a calcium ionophore has been examined by this method.
