✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Cardenolides of Convallaria majalis were separated by reverse‐phase HPLC on Partisil PXS 10/25 ODS columns using 25% acetonitrile as mobile phase. Periplorhamnoside, convallatoxin and either convallatoxol or convalloside were resolved from glycoside mixtures. Convallatoxin and periplorhamnoside were identified in plant extracts, convalloside and convallatoxol were not resolved from non‐cardenolide material present in leaf extracts.
