The proposed antenna is found to ha¨e a much broader impedance bandwidth as compared to the con¨entional U-slot antenna. An impedance bandwidth of about 33.8% is achie¨ed for the proposed E-plane antenna. Through the use of a washer on the proposed antenna, the probe inductor is compensated, and an

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel Hβshaped patch antenna suitable for wireless and satellite communications is presented. The new antenna has some advantages compared to conventional microstrip patch antennas, such as small size, a fewer number of modes, no harmonic resonance, and the provision of pure reactive impedances at its harmonics that can result in increasing the transmitter efficiency. The basic principles and design procedure are introduced. Two antennas at two different frequencies, 4 and 10 GHz, are designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show a good agreement with the predicted ones.βΒ© 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 62β66, 2001.

## Abstract Based on the symmetric properties of the antenna, the design equations for the first four mode frequencies are derived. A design methodology for an antenna operating at 2.45 GHz is presented. Two antennas have been designed and tested, and good agreement among the predicted, simulated,
A no¨el design of an L-shaped patch antenna for dualfrequency operation is proposed. The proposed antenna is obtained by bending a planar rectangular patch into an L-shaped patch, which is then placed on a grounded substrate, with the patch's horizontal portion parallel to and abo¨e the substrate an
## Abstract The design and radiation characteristics of a wide band dumbbellβshaped patch excited by planar strip monopole with truncated ground plane is proposed in this letter. The antenna can be easily modified for dual band operation by adjusting the location of the patch over the planar monopo

## Abstract This article presents a compact shorted patch antenna. The antenna is based on an Fβshaped printed conductor coaxially fed with an electromagnetically coupled shorted inverted Fβshaped antenna interleaved with each other. The overall antenna is then coupled with a rectangular ring. The
