โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A wideband coplanar waveguide (CPW)โfed twoโarm spiral slot antenna without a balun circuit is presented in this article. Phase progressions at arm ports are realized through the coplanar waveguide excitations. A detailed characterization of all antenna components and parameters is provided along with guidelines and recommendations for broad bandwidth and small reflection. Variations of the impedance matching due to the turn numbers, the ground width separated between two neighboring turns and the slot width are tested and studied. The measured impedance bandwidth of a S~11~ โค 10 dB ranges from 1.63 to 8 GHz and covers most of the commercial wireless communication systems, such as DCS, PCS, IMTโ2000, WLAN, Bluetooth, and HIPERLAN. ยฉ 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, a compact coplanar waveguideโfed slot antenna that can operate over an octaveband (1.75โ3.7 GHz) is presented. The novelty of this antenna is the wideband operation with the radial stub loading. The frontโtoโback ratio of the antenna with a back plate is better than 25dB
## Abstract In this article, a novel CPWโfed broadband asymmetrical slot antenna is proposed. The prototype consists of an asymmetrical slot and a tuning stub. From experimental results, the measured impedance bandwidth of this antenna, defined by โ10 dB return loss, can reach an operating bandwidt
Adjusting the slot width in a slot antenna can determine the operating frequency bandwidth. In order to obtain a wider radiation beamwidth, a narrower slot width is needed. This paper uses a CPW tuning stub in the CPW-fed slot antenna to achieยจe this goal. แฎ 1998
