A new type of dual-port, dual-frequency printed antenna is described. Its main characteristics are a relati¨ely wide bandwidth, high isolation between ports, and simple construction, together with good radiation properties. As an example of an application, a DECTqDCS 1800rWLAN antenna has been reali

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel, compact dual‐interleaved printed antenna is presented. The antenna consists of two interleaved L‐shaped shorted patches with the required feed network etched on a high‐dielectric‐constant substrate located below the ground plane of the antenna. A 10‐dB return loss impedance bandwidth of 16.9% has been achieved. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 0.2λ~0~ × 0.15λ~0~ × 0.10λ~0~. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
