✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel, compact dual‐interleaved printed antenna is presented. The antenna consists of two interleaved L‐shaped shorted patches with the required feed network etched on a high‐dielectric‐constant substrate located below the ground plane of the antenna. A 10‐dB return loss impedance bandwidth of 16.9% has been achieved. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 0.2λ~0~ × 0.15λ~0~ × 0.10λ~0~. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Experimental studies on a compact dual-frequency microstrip antenna are presented. This antenna configuration pro¨ides an area reduction of 40% compared to a standard rectangular antenna operating at the same frequency without much degradation of the gain. ## Abstract A compact dual‐band, dual‐port planar microstrip antenna is described. Its main properties are wide bandwidth, high and constant gain at both frequency bands, and a simple planar structure, which results from etching all patches onto a common substrate. ## Abstract A new compact dual‐band, dual‐polarized microstrip antenna is presented. This antenna resonates at two frequencies with different polarizations: a linearly polarized one for terrestrial communication, and a circularly polarized one for satellite mobile communication. This antenna also p
