The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C 15 H 10 Cl 2- N 2 O 2 )(C 5 H 5 N) 3 ]ÁC 5 H 5 N, is built of molecules of a mononuclear nickel complex and uncoordinated solvent pyridine molecules. The Ni II atom in the complex is coordinated by two O and one N atoms of the meridional tridentate
The title compound, [Zn(C 15 H 13 ClN 2 O 2 ) 2 (C 5 H 5 N) 2 ], is a centrosymmetric monomer with octahedral geometry about the Zn atom. The molecule is stabilized by intermolecular CÐ HÁ Á ÁO and CÐHÁ Á ÁCl interactions, so forming a threedimensional network.
The double chelate ring in the title complex, [Ni(C 15 H 11 Cl-N 3 O 3 ) 2 ]ÁC 5 H 5 N, is essentially planar, with the O,N,O-donor atoms and a pyridine ligand N atom occuping the equatorial positions in a distorted octahedral environment about the Ni atom. The NÐNiÐN axial bond angle is 173.16 (8)
