✦ Synopsis

The double chelate ring in the title complex, [Ni(C 15 H 11 Cl-N 3 O 3 ) 2 ]ÁC 5 H 5 N, is essentially planar, with the O,N,O-donor atoms and a pyridine ligand N atom occuping the equatorial positions in a distorted octahedral environment about the Ni atom. The NÐNiÐN axial bond angle is 173.16 (8) .

The title dinuclear complex, [Cd 2 (C 15 H 10 ClN 3 O 4 ) 2 (C 5 H 5 N) 4 ], lies on a centre of inversion. The deprotonated Schiff base spans the meridional sites of the octahedron surrounding the Cd atom through its O, N and O atoms; the hydroxy O atom of the symmetry-related anion forms a square
