## Abstract Tetrahydro‐2__H__‐pyrrolo[1,2‐__c__]quinazoline‐3‐ones are easily obtained from the Friedel‐Crafts cyclization of __N__‐arylaminomethyl pyroglutamic acids. This reaction occurrs __via__ an acyliminium salt formed by decarboxylation of the acid function.
