✦ Synopsis

Aromatische Sulfinylamino-carbonsiurechloride lassen sich in polaren, organischen Losungsmitteln mit stochiometrischen Mengen Wasser zu aromatischen Polyamiden umset-Zen. Durch das Wasser wird aus der Sulfinylaminogruppe unter SOz-Abspaltung die Aminogruppe frei und reagiert dann mit der Saurechloridgruppe in einer Polykondensationsreaktion. Diese laBt sich auch nach dem Phasengrenzflachenverfahren im System wlBrige Sodalosung/Cyclohexanon durchfiihren. Besonders hohe Molekulargewichte werden erhalten, wenn das gebildete Polyamid in dem verwendeten Losungsmittel loslich ist. Daraus lassen sich zahe, transparente Filme herstellen. Fiihrt man die Polykondensation unter Mitverwendung von aromatischen Diaminen und Dicarbonsaurehalogeniden durch, so erhalt man Copoly amide.

SUMMARY:

Aromatic sulphinyl amino-carboxylic acid chlorides can be reacted with s t o i c h i o d c a b . quantities of water in polar organic solvents to yield aromatic polyamides. The amino group is liberated by the action of water from the sulphinyl amino group while splitting off SO2 and reacts then with the acid chloride group in a polycondensation reaction. The p l ycondensatjen reaction can also be carried out by the interface process in the system of an aqueous sodium carbonate solution and cyclohexanone. Products of especially high molecular weight are obtained if the resulting polyamide is soluble in the solvent used. I n the latter case, transparent films of high strength properties can be produced. If the polycondensation is conducted in the presence of aromatic diamines and dicarboxylic acid halides, copolyarnides result.
