## Abstract A mononuclear Cu(II) complex with mixed ligands, formulated as [Cu(hypydc)(dmp)]·H~2~O (hypydc=4‐hydroxypyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylate, dmp=2,9‐dimethyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline), was synthesized and well characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis, as well as spectroscopic (IR, U
