✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The composition of the volatile oil from the leaves of Lantana camara was investigated in detail by GC and GC–MS techniques. β‐Caryophyllene (24.6%), α‐humulene (19.5%), sabinene (8.8%), germacrene D (5.7%) and cubebol (5.7%) were among the principal components. A total of 56 compounds, which accounted for 91.3% of the oil, were analysed. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Volatile oils obtained by hydrodistillation of the tubers of two varieties (brown and black) of Cyperus esculentus L. (Cyperaceae) were analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Nine and 11 compounds, representing 91.7-99.7% of the total volatile oils were identified, respectively, from the brown and black varietie
