It is shown theoretically that B +-Z -transitions in electron attachment and autionization of diatomic molecules are forbidden. For the verification of this selection rule, two experimental examples are piven.

✦ Synopsis
It is shown that the a-selection rule which holds in electron attachment to single oxygen molecules (excluding X*-Z-transitions), is strongly violated in oxygen clusters.
