✦ Synopsis

Free Staphylococcus auseus V8 proteinase was applied to coupling reactions of Z-Glu-OMe, Z-Glu-OBzl, Z-Ala-Glu-OMe and Z-Ala-Ala-Glu-OMe with various amino acid amides and peptides in acetonitrile containing 5 vol. % of water. No synthesis of Z-Asp-Leu-NH, was achieved under the same conditions. The synthesis of Z-Glu-Leu-NH, proceeded analogously also in 2-propanol or tert-butanol.

There are only few reports on applicability of highly specific Glu-C serine endoproteinase from Staphylowccua aureus strain V8 in peptide synthesis. Widmer et al.' synthesized sequences of mouse epidermal growth

## Abstract The effect of temperature studies on polyphenol oxidase immobilized on glass beads were carried out in organic solvents. The optimum temperature for catalysis depended on the solvent and varied in a range from 26°C for dichloromethane to 50°C for toluene, benzene and 1,1,1‐trichloroetha
