✦ Synopsis

CH,CHOH radicals have been studied using a pulse radiolysis/kinetic absorption technique. The UV spectrum of this species has been measured at wavelengths between 230 and 300 nm with a maximum absorption cross-section of 3.6 x lo-" cm2 molecule-' at 238 nm. Kinetic studies at 300 K yielded rate constants of (5.9? 0.9) x 10-l' cm' molecule-' s-' for the self-reaction of these radicals and ( 1.3? 0.2) x IO-" cm3 molecule-' s-l for their reaction with Oz.

Alkyl and alkylperoxy radicals originating from dimethyl ether have been studied in the gas phase at 296 K. A pulse radiolysis-UV absorption technique was used.
