Absolute cross sections have been determined for the vacuum-ultmriolet emission of Xe + Xe collisions betiieen 10 and 15 eV_ The exponentkd energ)_ dependence and the low absolurc cross section (IO-' to IOm8 A*) indicate that a direct crossin,p is not reached.
