Absolute cross sections have been determined for the vacuum-ultmriolet emission of Xe + Xe collisions betiieen 10 and 15 eV\_ The exponentkd energ)\_ dependence and the low absolurc cross section (IO-' to IOm8 A\*) indicate that a direct crossin,p is not reached.
