✦ Synopsis

Fluorescence of the Xez ~ontin&m between 1460 and 1800 A hz4 been observed during exciiation of Xet molecules with CO fourth positive bands from 3 microwave discharge lamp. Fluorescence spectra at different Xe and odded gss pressures.show that in coUisions with Xe orxr atoms, the excited Xez diatoms are efficiently relaxed to low vibrational Ievcis of the 'Zi atid 3 2: potenti& without being quc~c}led nokeably.
