Ultrasonic investigation for the single crystals of ferromagnetic filled skutterudite compound NdOs 4 Sb 12 was performed. A marked frequency dependence of the ultrasonic dispersion has been observed in a longitudinal elastic constant C 11 at temperature centered around 45 K; however, no dispersion

Ultrasonic attenuation measurements have been firstly performed for a large single crystal of PrOs 4 Sb 12 with the dimensions of 5:97 Γ 0:6 Γ 0:6 mm 3 . Remarkable frequency dependence around 20-40 K has been observed in the elastic constant and attenuation coefficient of the longitudinal C 11 mode
We have made ultrasonic measurements on a filled skutterudite PrOs 4 Sb 12 showing a heavy Fermion superconductivity at T C ΒΌ 1:85 K: The elastic constants Γ°C 11 Γ C 12 Γ=2 and C 44 of PrOs 4 Sb 12 exhibit low-temperature softenings below 20 K down to T C ; indicating a quadrupole fluctuation of Pr
The crystal field parameters for Eu2+ associated wivith a defect along (110) in RbCl are reported. The widths of the hyperfine lines increase abnormally as one moves from the center of the spectrum to either ends. This abnormality is related to probable off-center positions of Eu2+ in the lattice.
