โฆ Synopsis
By means of two-photon sequential absorption via real intermediate rotational levels of the A state, vibrational levels of three new excited electroruc states of the sodium dimer have been observed in the 4 eV regron. These states are identified as F 1 z;, G 1 rig and H 1 Q. Their vibrational and rotational constants have been determined.

All (twelve) optical diffuse interstellar absorption bands appearing in the interval 768.0-788.0 nm are assigned on the basis of a nonlinear effect: Lyman-alpha-driven, resonantly enhanced two-photon absorption by hydrogen molecules located near H II regions of young, hot stars.
The observation of intensz b&d systems attributable to Xe2 gives clear spectroscopic evidence of the formation of molecules even at 10~~ preuure.
The laser absorption spectrum of the LaF / molecular ion has been observed for the first time. Gas-phase LaF was obtained by heating a mixture of La metal and LaF 3 powder to 1900 K. LaF / ions were produced by passing a 25-kHz discharge through the vapor. Under these conditions the tantalum heating
