New compounds containing a diquinoline or l,L?-dinaphthyridine nucleus fused to the molecular skeleton of cyclooctatetraene have been synthesized. An X-ray analysis of cycloocta[Z,l-b:3,4\_b']diquinoline (4) has revealed that the molecule contains ac 2 axis. The reaction of &with copper perchlorate
