The author observed that information inferred from current interpretations of experimental data for the heavy, electron superconductor UPh constrain the order parameter to be of Ez. symmetry. Possible objections to the current interpretations will be given.

The tetracritical point seen in the H-T phase diagram of UPt3 for several orientations of H strongly constrains Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theories, as the GL "Hamiltonian" must have a conserved quantity Q. A two-component vector order parameter model has a Q for HNc , but no tetracritical point. Among ac

Recent small angle neutron scattering experiments under an external field H by Kleiman et al. reveal that in UPt3 a distorted vortex lattice is stabilized and the rhombic unit cell angle ct(H) varies continuously with increasing H applied perpendicular to the hexagonal c-axis. To understand this int
We have measured the specific heat (0.3 < T < 0.6 K) of superconducting UPt3 in an external magnetic field (B< 1T) applied along the c-axis of the hexagonal crystal. We studied the field dependence of the two superconducting phases re orted before in zero field (1). The phase diagram for B//c has a
