✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Fe(C 9 H 6 NO) 3 ]ÁCH 3 OH, consists of a mononuclear [Fe(C 9 H 6 NO) 3 ] complex molecule and a methanol solvent molecule. The Fe III ion is coordinated by three N atoms and three O atoms from three quinolin-8-olate ligands. The six atoms around the metal form a slightly distorted octahedral geometry.

The five-coordinate geometry of the Al atom in the title compound, [Al(C 10 H 8 NO) 2 (C 16 H 11 O)], is trigonal-bipyramidal, in which the O-donor atoms of the naphtholate and the two quinolinolate ligands are in the trigonal equatorial plane and the N atoms in the axial positions.
