✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In this paper, a compact microstrip bandpass filter with wide stopband performance is presented. Wide stopband performance is achieved by introducing both stepped‐impedance resonator and over‐coupling technique. With the new structure, the filter has not only wide upper stopband performance with harmonic frequency outside 5__f__~0~ but also compact size. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this article, we propose a dual‐mode bandpass filter (BPF) at 1.575 GHz using periodic meander slotted ground structures (M‐SGSs) which are etched on the ground plane for spurious suppression. First, single M‐SGS is analyzed. Second, the M‐SGSs are used to provide a good stopband‐rej
