✦ Synopsis
The external transport number of Naf in molten NaF was determined to be 064 & 0.05 by a tracer technique. A boron-nitride crucible was used as reference; it also served as a diaphragm separating the anolyte and the catholyte. Viscous flow could not be avoided completely, but was corrected for by performing several experiments and extrapolating to zero charge.

Splitting of the monomer bands was also observed; it is attributed to cis-trans-isomerism; the band of shorter wavelength is assigned to the all-trans-form, that of longer wavelength to a mono-cis-isomer that arises by rotation around the C-2/C-8 bond
Overvoltage measurements in the molten LiF-NaF-KF eutectic mixture, containing oxides, hydroxides and water in solution, were carried out by the galvanostatic single-pulse method in order to investigate the oxygen-and hydrogen-evolution reactions. Experiments were. performed at 600°C on bright plat
