In the title compound, [Cd(ClO 4 ) 2 (C 10 H 12 N 2 O) 2 ], the Cd atom (site symmetry 1) is trans-coordinated by two N,O-bidentate chelating (2E)-3-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1-(2-pyridyl)prop-2en-1-one ligands, and by two O atoms from two perchlorate anions, in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry.
