โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
The solubility of purified cholesterol digitonide in absolute and aqueous ethanols was investigated. The results indicate that preservation of cholesterol (or other 3โBโhydroxysterols) in tissues prepared for electron and light microscopy by digitoninโcontaining fixatives may not be quantitative when ethanol and, in particular, absolute ethanol, is used for dehydration.
