✦ Synopsis
The Knudsen method has been employed to measure the vapor pressures of the pure elements silver and antimony and to determine the thermodynamic data of solid ol-Ag-%-alloys. For Ag the Hertz-Knudsen-Langmuir equation can easily be used. Sb. however, forms associates Sb, Sbl and Sb, in the vapor phase. which lead to a modification of this equation. A procedure is proposed to obtain the partial vapor pressures of the different Sb molecules, knowledge of which is necessary to evaluate the activity of Sb in these alloys. The activities determined in this way agree well with thermodynamic investigations of similar alloy systems of Ag with ekments of positive excess charge having the same ion core. The agreement with data listed by Hultgren is very poor, however. L'accord est par contre trb mauvais avec les don&es publiks par Hultgren.
