In preparing this MS. the editor is greatly indebted to Prof. V. Gokhale for his kindness in showing him the unpublished Sanskrit text of the Madhyamaka-hrdaya-kdrikds. He should also not fail to mention the kindness of Rev. Tokwan Tada who checked the text of the Sde-dge edition, and of Dr. K. Hasuba of Otani University, who helped him decipher the print of the Peking edition on dubious points.
