Candidin,the heptaene macrolide antifungal antibiotic from Streptornvces viridoflavus';was recognised to be a mixture of three active principles all belonging to the %onarotnatic" subgroup of heptaenes 2,3 .The name candidin was retained for the main component of the antibiotic complex while the two other components were designated candidinin and candidoin.
