Tne wsta! structure of the spin crossover complex [re(l-pic)l] CIZ -EtOH in its high spin stare (798. 150 K) and ION skin smtc (90 6) has been determined. The cry~ak are monoclinic. PZl/c \xith Z=4 in. the two spin states. Pronounced clung= in tire Fe-X bond distance (Z-I% A for high spin. 2.013 X for ION spin on average) and orientational disorder of tile etlmnof nmkmk sere obserwd. The compIe\es ai;d ethanols aie both hydrosen bonded to Cl-ions.
