โœฆ Synopsis

This paper presented an analytical-nume~cai soIution of a finite body with multiple cracks. According to the Bueckner method and based on the solution for the integral equation system of fracture series, we proposed a direct method considering interaction between boundary and cracks-"Virtual loading method". Instead of repeated loading and tedious computing of non-equilibrium stresses on the boundaries, a direct analytical solution including virtual loads is used, by which the more accurate results are obtained and less computing time is needed.

In this paper, a plate with a central crack in uniform tension or shear is analysed. A method is presented of forming the transition interval at the crack tip where both the crack opening displacement and the finite stress concentrations appears. The problems are solved using the weight integral met
