β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The results of a study of. the solidβstate catalytic hydrogenation and the synthesis of tritium labelled native heterocyclic bases are presented. The effect of different palladium catalysts and reaction conditions on yield and molar radioactivity of final compounds was investigated. For some compounds, data on the intramolecular distribution of tritium were obtained by using the isotope exchange reaction and tritium NMR. Tritium labelled purine and pyrimidine bases (25β180 Ci/mmol.) were synthesized.

## Abstract We report here the investigation of solidβstate catalytic hydrogenation (SCH) of unsaturated compounds, used for the synthesis of tritium labelled valine The effect of the solidstate components ratio, tritium pressure and reaction temperature on the reaction rate has been investigated.
The synt esis of 3H-labelled azidothymidine (AZT) from accomplished by column chromatography. The purity of the labelled compound was determined by high performance 1 iquid chromatography connected with a radioactive flow detector. The labelled AZT was found to be stable at pH ranging from 2.3 to 7.
## Abstract Solid state catalytic hydrogen isotope exchange has been employed to label hen egg lysozyme with tritium. Optimization of reaction conditions so that amino acids and peptide bonds remained intact led to a tritiated product with 97% of the original enzymatic activity and 94% radiochemica
The synthesis of tritium-labelled misonidazole via the NaB3H4. reduction of 1-(3-methoxy-2~xopropyl) -2-nitro-1Himidazole is described. Purification of labelled misonidazole was accqlished by recrystallization. The purity of the labelled cmpund was verified by HPLC.
