The absorption spectrum of \(\mathrm{S}_{2}\) has been observed down to \(400 \AA\) on the SA63 line of SUPERACO (LURE) in Orsay, France. Two already reported Rydberg series converging to the \(X^{2} \Pi_{g}\) ground state of \(\mathrm{S}_{2}^{+}, \pi_{u}^{4} \pi_{g}^{2} X^{3} \Sigma_{g}^{-} \righta

β¦ Synopsis
The isotropic diameters, d vol , of several rare gases and molecules in their ground and electronically excited states are calculated from the volumes obtained using a Monte Carlo integration of the electronic wave function that covers ΓΊ98% of the electron density. This method provides a more reliable estimate as compared with the root-mean-square value of the electronic displacement previously reported. d vol values for several molecular ground, intravalence, and Rydberg excited states are reported, and comparisons are made with experimental estimates of the increases in the molecular sizes of Rydberg states based on lineshape perturbations with Ar.

Total quenching of the low-Rydberg state of Na in collision with thermal Ne and Ar was investigated, for the first time, employing a molecular approach in the impact parameter formalism. A large basis set of Slater-type orbitals was used to calculate the molecular structure of the transient quasimol
## Abstract The singlet and triplet excited states of hydrogen cyanide have been computed by using the complete active space selfβconsistent field and completed active space second order perturbation methods with the atomic natural orbital (ANOβL) basis set. Through calculations of vertical excitat
The circular to linear polarization ratio for the two-photon excitation of the \(3 s\) Rydberg states of monomethylpyridines has been measured by \(2+1\) resonant MPI spectroscopy in a static cell. The symmetry of the Rydberg vibrational bands is deduced and the results from the \(0-0\) transition s
