It is proposed that the splitting observed in the low temperature reflection spectrum of bis-pamtoluene sulfonate diacetyiene polymer single crystals is a manifestation of site splitting in a Frenkel exciton transition. Possible origins of the site splitting enemy are discussed\_

β¦ Synopsis
The sign of the zero field splitting parameter D of a triplet carbene in partially polymerized poly-[1.2-bis-Cptolylsulfonyloxymethylen)-I-buten-3-inylen] (ITS) has been determined from the temperature dependence of the ESR intensities to be positive.

Raman spectra of the black polydiacetylene single crystals TS6 and TS/FBS were recorded by means of a conventional Raman spectrometer with excitation in the near-infrared spectral region. The singlet-triplet (Se+T, ) absorption of all-trans( 1,6-diphenyl)-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH) has been made accessible for the first time without using external perturbation methods. It has been studied in DPH single crystals at high spectral resolution applying photoexcitation spectroscopy with cw dye
The first excited triplet state of NaN02 single crystals was studied using ESR and Zeeman spectroscopy. The fine structure and g-tensor constants were determined. The ESR line shape indicates that cncrgy transfer tics place in the triplet state.
