✦ Synopsis
It is proposed that the splitting observed in the low temperature reflection spectrum of bis-pamtoluene sulfonate diacetyiene polymer single crystals is a manifestation of site splitting in a Frenkel exciton transition. Possible origins of the site splitting enemy are discussed_
