Abatract-Supcrior activity of anatase TiO, towards photodegradation of a series of organic compounds is interpreted in terms of difkrences in the surface behaviour of anatase and rutile. Very stable surface peroxides are shown to be formed at the anatase during photo-oxidation reactions but to be ab
The presence of a paramagneti 'co species due to oxygen in the crystal of TiO9 anatsse is shown by EPR. The hyperfine'structure due to the isotopes 47 and 49 of titanium is also detected. A volumetric measurement has allowed us to attribute this species to a complex (Ti0)3+.
