โฆ Synopsis
A satisfactory correlation between the temperature of radiothermoluminescence (RTL) peaks and phase transition points has been found in simple hydrocarbons. RTL peaks due to a glass transition phenomenon are observed clearly in ethane, propane and other compounds. These compounds were deposited rapidly on@ a cooIed copper surface from the vapour (the vapour condensation method). A method for studying phase transitions in several substances by means of RTL is proposed.
