โฆ Synopsis
In a recent attempt to add t-butyl hypochlorite to olefins such as styrene and l-hexene in nitromethane, we were surprised to find that the exclusive products of these rapid reactions are chloronitromethane (ClCHaNO =,I) and t-butyl alcohol in nearly quantitative yield.
