Abstract
The reactions
have been studied in a dischargeβflow system. Kinetic studies were made using resonance fluorescence for the measurement of atom concentrations. Based on the rates of atom loss, the following upper limits were obtained for the rate constants:
Observed reaction in the Hο£ΏHNO~3~ system is at least partially due to an autocatalytic chain removal of both reactants. Diagnostic tests have suggested that OH, NO~2~, and NO~3~ are the chain carriers.

The reaction of 1,3-cyclopentadiene (CPD) with ground-state atomic oxygen O ( 3 P ) , produced by mercury photosensitized decomposition of nitrous oxide, was studied. The identified products were carbon monoxide and the following C4H6 isomers: 3-methylcyclopropene, 1,3-butadiene, 1,2-butadiene, and
An upper bbund of 6 X 10" cm3/mole s on the rate constant for the reaction. of atomic oxygen with vibrntional-I$ excited Yz has been deduced from laboiatory'observations and from detailed computer &ulations. From this result it can be shown that no more than 30% of the vibrational energy of Hz is e
## Abstract A phaseβshift method has been used to determine the rate constant for the reaction of ground state oxygen atoms with HCl over the temperature range of 330β600 K. Oxygen atoms were generated by modulated mercury photosensitized decomposition of N~2~O, and monitored by the chemiluminescen
## Abstract The reactions of dimethyl ether (CH~3~OCH~3~, DME) with O(^3^P) and H atoms have been studied at high temperatures by using a shock tube apparatus coupled with atomic resonance absorption spectroscopy (ARAS). The rate coefficients for the reactions CH~3~OCH~3~ + O(^3^P) β CH~3~OCH~2~ +
