✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Phenoxybenzamine [N‐Bethyl‐N‐(l‐phenoxyisopropyl)‐2‐chloroethylamine hydrochloride] has been labelled with Nitrogen‐15 by a direct synthesis from ^15^N‐ammonium chloride. The isotopic enrichment was 92.8%.

## Abstract The precursor for the title compound was prepared in a three‐step synthesis. The ^13^C‐label was incorporated in the first step employing 2‐^13^C‐ethyl acetate and the ^15^N‐label in the last step, using ^15^N‐sodium nitrite. Upon pyrolysis the precursor forms three fragments, one of th

## Abstract ^15^N labeled tetranitromethane, C(^15^NO~2~)~4~, was prepared from anhydrous nitric acid and acetic anhydride. A procedure for the preparation of the nitric acid from Na^15^NO~3~ is described. Tyrosine was nitrated with H^15^NO~3~ and its ^15^N NMR spectrum compared well with that of t
