## Abstract A novel application of nanoparticles of paramagnetic magnetite (Fe~3~O~4~) as an efficient catalyst for carbon‐carbon bond formation __via__ the Sonogashira–Hagihara reaction under heterogeneous ligand‐free conditions in ethylene glycol (EG) is described. By using this catalyst, arylalk
For the first time, conditions have been found for the palladium-catalyzed desulfitative carbon-carbon cross-coupling of arenesulfonyl chlorides with aryl-and alkylacetylenes. Pd 2 (dba) 3 /P(t-Bu) 3 and CuI provide the best catalyst for reactions in refluxing THF and in the presence of K 2 CO 3 .
