MATERIALS AND METHODS ## Reagents. Lyophilized Litnultrs amebocyte lysate (Pyrogent. purchased from Mallinckrodt (St. Louis, MO.) was used in all experiments. The redissolved reagent was kept frozen at -20Β°C in small aliquots for no longer than 4 weeks.
