โœฆ Synopsis

In the yeast Candida utilis an associative temperature profile was found with respect to thermal death and growth. The cardinal temperatures were the following: optimum temperature for growth, 36 "C, minimum temperature of thermal death, 37.9 "C; final maximum temperature for growth, 40.1 "C; initial maximum temperature for growth, 40.7 "C. The growth yield on glucose only decreased near the final maximum temperature for growth.
