A calculation is made on the segregation of solute atoms at stacking faults in f.o.0. crystals under equilibrium conditions. The expression given by Dorn relating the concentrations of solute atoms in the faulted and unfaulted regions is rederived. A new expression is given for the equilibrium width
By x-ray crystallography of the 116 epimer, toxins C3 and C4 are shown to be 2lsuIfo-N-Ihydroxysaxitoxin-llo-and Ilf%-~ydroxysulfate, confirming the position and identity of the 3 substituents which, with the parent compound, form the array of 12 saxitoxins found in Protogonyaulax.
