โฆ Synopsis
The iron nicarbonyl complexes of I-(2-adamantylidene)-2-methylenecyclohexane and of the 5fluoroadarnantylidene analog have been prepared. Both the m and anti isomers were obtained in the latter case; the major product has the E configuration as established by means of X-ray diffraction. The reaction therefore joins several others in which reagents of various types were added to a trigonal center C, in adamantanes carrying an electron withdrawing substituent at C,: this attack also, occurs preferentially at the g face.

Various nitrlle oxides were reacted with iron complexed trienes of type 1. The reaction proceeded with good yield and diastereoselectivity (ea. 90/l 0) to give A2-isoxazolines which structures were determined by X-Ray and lH-NMR spectroscopy. A2-isoxazolines, obtained by [3+2] dipolar cycloaddition
