โฆ Synopsis
The electronic spectrum of CrO* 2-is identical to that of &InO; exceptfor &I energy inversion of the 3rd nnd 4th band systems. A very we&lowest-energy band, the authenticity of whfch has been in debate for bln0;. is unambiguously present in CrO'-. The intense (E, z 104) 55 560 cm-l band of CrOz-and the correlatmg 32 600 cm-l band of MnO.? exhibl s srgnnlflcant decrease of intensity in the solid state; the + . . . corresponding transitions presumnhl?_ possess -"big orbit" character.
