✦ Synopsis

The effect of tbc correlation energy on tbc mecbanisrn of lbc butadicnc + ethylene reaction has been studied by mans of Mbllcr-l'lesset perturbation theory. It is drown that its introduction stabi!izcs prcferenti.dly tllc asynchronous structures, thus favouring tlw a%yncltronistn of the process.

The effect of Lewis acid catalysts on the mechanism of Diels-Alder reactions is studied using the MINDO/3 method. It is found that they tend to increase the two-step character of the process through a more important participation of the charge-transfer configuration.
