Cointegration techniques were used to identify valid long-run relationships between macroeconomic variables and agriculture. Then, identifying restrictions were imposed on a VAR system and three long-run equilibrium relationships were found, with exports, the real price of outputs and net farm incom

โฆ Synopsis
The paper investigates the eects of the trade and foreign exchange management policies of the structural adjustment programme (SAP) on the Nigerian agricultural export sector. Protection rates and the incidence parameter are used to evaluate the policy outcomes over the 1970ยฑ92 period. Our analysis indicates that the protection of import-competing sectors has not been eliminated and that it results in the taxation of all exportables, with the largest proportion of such taxes borne by agricultural exportables. The inability of the SAP policy instruments to achieve their objectives was partly because of failure to maintain consistent policies and partly due to a weak approach to implementation of some policies.

## Abstract We study the impact of seasonal adjustment on the properties of business cycle expansion and recession regimes using analytical, simulation and empirical methods. Analytically, we show that the Xโ11 adjustment filter both reduces the magnitude of change at turning points and reduces the

Instrumental observations of weather which have been made in the last three centuries confirm that climatic variations exist. These show no regularity with respect to either amplitude or frequency. To this date no successful estimation of climatic variation has been made on a scientific basis. For t
