โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

In this peculiar Orthopteron the chromosomes are unusual in these respects: the number is low for one of the Saltatoria; there is an xโ€y idiochromosome pair; all the tetrads are individually distinguishable; the chromosomes are small, relatively and actually, in the very large first spermatocyte. The structural peculiarities of the animal are reflected in those of its germ cells, but as yet no correlation has been established.

## Abstract The diploid number of chromosomes obtained from counts of anaphases of the first somatic mitosis is found to be fortyโ€four. Of these, seven have terminal, thirtyโ€seven nonโ€terminal attachment, giving a distribution of seven rods, thirteen V's, and twentyโ€four J's. The number is constant

## Abstract The number and behavior of the chromosomes have been investigated in the spermatogenesis of Cryptobranchus allegheniensis. The spermatogonium contains sixtyโ€two chromosomes, which are composed of twelve atelomitic Vโ€shaped ones, and eighteen long and thirtyโ€two short telomitic ones. The

## Abstract The spermatogenesis of the domestic mouse has been studied. There are forty chromosomes in spermatogonia and twenty in primary spermatocytes. The sex chromosomes are of the usual Xโ€Y type. Especial attention has been devoted to the study of chromosome morphology, both in spermatogonia a
