Abstract
Compositions of the Cd~(1–x)~Mn~(x)~In~2~S~4~ system (0.5 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) were synthesized by the melt and annealing technique and grown by the chemical vapor transport method. The magnetic cation distributions have been estimated by X‐ray powder diffraction structure refinements using the Rietveld method. These alloys form a solid solution in all the range of compositions and crystallize with cubic symmetry in the space group Fd 3m. All phases show a spinel structure with a random arrangement of cations. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

The structure of the semiconducting alloy Cu 2 Cd 0.5 Mn 0.5 GeSe 4 was refined from an X-ray powder diffraction pattern using the Rietveld method. The present alloy crystallizes in the wurtz-stannite structure, space group Pmn2 1 (Nº 31), and unit cell parameters values of a = 8.0253(2) Å, b = 6.85
Neutron powder diffraction patterns were recorded on CaMn 1-x Cu x O 3 (x = 0 and 0.20) compounds at different temperatures down to 11K. All the patterns were analyzed by employing Rietveld refinement technique and using the Fullprof program. The observed crystallographic peaks could be refined by u
